Andlows Farmhouse GV II
C17, extended and altered C18. Flint and brick, earlier timber-framing within. Old tile roof hipped at west end, two brick stacks near centre, gabled crosswing at east with staircase in SW angle, under continuation of main roof. Floorbands to this wing. Chamfered brick window surrounds. Garden front has modern porch in centre, 2-light casement on left, 3-light on right, with similar windows above, 2-light over porch. Small window to staircase on right, door and one window to wing, 2-light casement to first floor. West end elevation has floorband, one 2-light casement on left to each floor. Rear elevation to farmyard has 6-fielded panel door under hood with shaped brackets, 3-light casement on left and two similar above. Two 2-light casements to first floor of wing on left, loft door in gable over. Modern addition right and left. Interior: central room has good chamfered spine beam and joists with moulded stops, large inglenook fireplace. Chamfered and stopped doorframe to rear entrance lobby. C18 arched cupboard in west room. First floor central room has C17 moulded tone cornice mantelpiece with small heart-shaped motifs in spandrels. More chamfered doorframes and one C17 or early C18 door with bolection moulded panels, diamond shaped above, shouldered below.
