BRANCEPETH THE VILLAGE NZ 2237 (East side) 15/33 Nos. 2,3,3A and 4 10/5/67 (formerly listed as Nos. 2,3,3A and 4 Brancepeth) GV II

Row of 3 houses, No. 3 now 2 dwellings. Mid-late C18 with C20 alterations. Pebble-dashed rubble, pantiled roofs (renewed except for No. 2) and rebuilt brick chimmey stacks. 2 storeys. No. 2 at right, one bay; centre house and No. 4, 2 bays each. Continuous plinth. Openings with wedge lintels and projecting sills mainly stone, but concrete on centre house. Replaced doors, No. 2 with 3-pane overlight. Centre house has re-set bullseye window, inscribed H.T.1730, above central pair of doorways; and cross casements. Replaced sashes elsewhere: 12-pane on No. 2; 16-pane on No. 4. Level eaves line. Steeply-pitched roofs. Centre house has stone-coped gable with shaped kneeler at left, and slightly higher ridge flanked by stacks. C20 additions on rear of each house are not of interest. Centre house included for group value. Nos. 1 to 12 (consecutive) form a continuous row.
