ESTON HIGH STREET, NZ 51 NE north side 7/6 No. 45 16.6.86 G.V. II
Wrongly shown on O.S. map as No. 2. Cottage, may have been public house, early/mid C18. Coursed sandstone rubble; clay pantile roof with stone ridge copings and rebuilt brick end stacks. Single storey, 2 windows. Entered from doorway in left return. Horizontal sashes with glazing bars and iron shutter hinges. Window at right now boarded up. Mid C19 sash window with shutter hinges at right of boarded door in left return. Sashed garret light with glazing bars. Timber and iron shed adjoining rear is not of special interest. Property on site occupied by Snowdon family since C15 or C16. Dilapidated at time of resurvey.
