CHALFONT ST GILES HIGH STREET 1. 5134 (south-east side) Flag House (formerly listed as Pond Cottage) SU 9995 4/18 13.9.71

II 2. C17 altered late C18 early C19. Two storeys, L plan. Red brick casing to timber-frame, but exposed in gable end to street. Old tile roof. Brick bands between storeys. Small attic casement set in framing, 2-light C19 camber arched casement on ground floor. West side has 2-light casements to both floors. Plain door. Early C19 single storey wing at right angles to west has 3-light wood casement and plain door under common lintel. On east side weather-boarded lean-to on brick base with old tile roof. External brick chimney stack to rear. Interior has exposed studding to former west external wall. Upstairs chamfered wall plate. Rafters in attic largely encased but 2 purlins and collar exposed. Partly exposed partition.
