House, formerly a row of cottages. 3 taller bays to left are C17, altered late C18-early C19. Early C19 lower range to right. C17 part is timber-framed,the upper walls of front left bays and gable having rendered timbers with C17 thin brick infill, the lower walls and right bay rebuilt in flint with brick dressings. Left bay has inset clunch panel carved with tracery. Tiled roof, rebuilt brick chimney between right bays. One storey and attic, 3 bays. Ground floor has C20 leaded casements, 4 2-light and one 3-light. Upper storey has 2 old paired leaded casements in gabled eaves-line dormers. C20 door to left of right bay has segmental head. Lean-to to rear. Early C19 range is of flint with brick dressings, thatch roof, and brick chimneys between left bays and to right. One storey, 3 bays. 5 paired leaded casements, 2 C20 in blocked doorways. Another blocked door in right bay. Interior shows timber frame with curved braces, wind-braces and re-used central spine beam. RCHM I p. 259 Mon.4.
