CAMBORNE CHURCH STREET SW 64 SW (south side) 10/42 Vivian monument approx. 4 metres west of south aisle of Church of St Martin and St Meriadocus GV II Tomb chest. Late C18. Commemorates various members of the Vivian family, principally Mrs Alice Vivian (d.1787) and her eldest son James Vivian (d.1782). Granite ashlar and white marble. Very large rectangular base with raked surface, chest with moulded plinth, plain lid, 2 sunk marble tablets in each side and one at each end: at the west end, a raised coat of arms; on the north side to the right, the inscription:- Underneath are deposited the Mortal Remains of Mrs JULIAN VIVIAN widow who departed this life 23 Septr AD 1787 Aged 73 Years and to the left:- Also of her eldest Son JAMES VIVIAN Esqr late of Rosewarne in this Parish HIGH SHERIFF of this County in the year l772 who departed this Life 2d Nov.AD 1782 Aged 47 Years Similar inscriptions to her second son the Revd. John Vivian (d.1801) at the east end, and to John Vivian, barrister, (d.1817) and Mrs Alice Vivian (d.1825) on the south side.
