Methodist church and attached house. Dated 1863, with minister's house attached slightly later. Stone rubble, partly rendered, with brick dressings and rusticated granite quoins. Ripped slate roof with ridge tiles. The house is in stone rubble with granite dressings, hipped slate roof with rendered stacks to sides. Plan: Rectangular single auditorium plan, with ritual east to the rear; the front has a lobby entrance, with a stair to right and left leading to the gallery. To the rear, behind the rostrum, is a school room, with separate stair to rear left and entrance to rear left. Attached to the right side is a 2-room plan house, with each room heated by stack to side. Exterior: Front to road on plinth, with central shallow brick porch with hood mould, double panelled doors with fanlight with decorative glazing bars and date in spandrels; tall 32-pane light to right and left with round brick heads and brick Gibbs surround and granite keystone; first floor has four 16-pane sashes with round heads and Gothic glazing bars, similar surround. Left side of 4 bays; ground floor has 16-pane sashes with cambered brick heads and granite keystones, first floor has 16-pane sashesd with round heads and Gothic glazing bars, in same surrounds. Right side of the church rendered; two 16-pane sashes at ground floor and first floor as to left side. Upper wall of church slate-hung above attached house. House of 2 storeys and 3 windows, all plate-glass sashes, central C20 porch and door. Small single storey C20 addition to left side. Blocked door with granite lintel at right side. Rear of church has 3 similar sashes at first floor; ground floor has panelled double doors to right, two 20-pane lights to left. Interior: The entrance lobby is screened from the auditorium and has a stair curving to right and left to the gallery. The gallery is supported on slender wooden piers, and has a panelled front with modillion cornice. Roof ceiled. Rostrum in faux marbre, with arcade of 3 round arches, stair to right with turned balusters. Balustrade to reader's desk. Raised dais to rear for organ. Plain pitch pine panelled pews in auditorium, raked panelled pews in the gallery. To the rear, the schoolroom has the original wooden benches. Straight stair to left side.
