Roughly dressed sandstone shaft: 700mm by 275mm square. c.1755. Inscriptions: N.side: "Road to Kirk-Leatham"; S.side: "Road to .....", E.side: "Tockit East"; W.side: eroded; (S.side originally read "Road to Whitby", according to local historian A.E.F. Wright).
