REDCAR THE GREEN NZ 52 SE (south side), Dormanstown 4/47 Westfield House - II

Farmhouse and farm cottage, now one house. Mid C18; cottage raised by one storey in mid C19. Late C19 rear porch and east extension. Brick with rendered gable ends. Clay pantile roofs, with stone and brick gable copings. 2 storeys, 2 windows; now entered from rear of cottage. Garden front : late C19 canted bay windows with sashes and glazing bars on ground floor. Renewed first-floor sashes under gauged brick flat arches. Stepped brick eaves cornice. End stacks. Cottage slightly recessed on right. Renewed door and overlight at left, late C20 enlarged casement window at right and in extension; and 20-pane sash windows on first floor. End and ridge stacks. Rear of farmhouse shows scattered fenestration with cambered heads and renewed glazing. Mid C19 2-storey canted bay window with renewed sashes, at right end. Farm cottage has lean-to porch, and extension has lean-to outshuts. Interior: 2-panel doors in moulded wood surrounds on both floors. Barn (now garage and workshop) adjoining west end of farmhouse, is much altered and not of special interest.
