NZ6115 GUISBOROUGH WESTGATE (SOUTH SIDE) 9/202 Nos. 105 and 107 (Kemplah House), railings, adjoining extensions, stable and gate piers.

Town house, now aged persons' home. Early C19. Dressed sandstone; Welsh slate roofs, stone ridge and gable copings, 2 stone stacks with cornice caps at gables. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Sash windows with glazing bars; stone sills and lintels with carved keys. Doorway to RHS (4th bay) in Doric portico with tented lead roof; 6-panelled door; rectangular spiked iron railings each side of doorway. Round-headed staircase window to rear (S.) elevation (LHS) with intersecting glazing bars. No. 105 (extension adjoining E. side of No. 107): Late C19. Matching materials to No. 107. Single storey. Sash window, with glazing bars to top sash; painted stone sill continued as band. Doorway (RHS) in pilaster-and-entablature surround with consoles; panelled reveals, 4-panelled door and rectangular fanlight. Listing includes Mid. C19 extension adjoining W.side of No. 107, of matching materials. 2 storeys. Tripartite bow window with sashes and glazing bars to ground floor; 2 sashes with glazing bars to first floor; all late C19. Sills continued as bands. Early C19 dressed sandstone gatepiers with pyramid caps adjoin W.side of extension; and early C19 stable adjoins S.side of extension; of matching materials; hipped roof; 2 storeys.
