15/27 Gillbeck House (formerly listed as 12.1.67 Britannia Cottage)

GV II

M House, dated 1746 with initials RM, altered early C20. Tooled-and-margined stone of near-ashlar quality, with tooled ashlar dressings. C20 hardrow tile roof with stacks of rough-faced stone. 2 storeys + attics, 2 bays. Rusticated quoins. Central renewed half-glazed door in shouldered architrave with pulvinated frieze and cornice, and datestone above. 4-pane sash windows in architraves. Tall steeply-pitched roof with 2 flat-topped dormers, each with paired 4-pane sashes. Projecting corniced stack on right return half-way up roof slope, and smaller corniced stack at left end of ridge. Rear elevation shows central arched stair window: 12-pane sash with intersecting glazing bars in stone surround with imposts and keystone. 2 early C20 roof dormers, as at front.
