House, extended to form 2 cottages, now restaurant with domestic accommodation above.
Circa early C18 extended and remodelled in circa mid C19. Painted stone rubble,
slate-hung on left-hand, higher gable end. Slate roof with gable ends and gabled end
to rear wing. Stone rubble chimney stack on lower right-hand gable end. Brick
shaft. Brick chimney stack in gable end of rear wing. Originally rear lateral stack
to higher end. Now blocked and shaft removed.
Plan altered. Through passage retained at lower end. Rear wing added to form T-
shape plan. 3 storeys, regular 2-window front. Ground floor with C20 window beneath
concrete lintel in door opening on right. Near centre C20 window and door in wide
opening beneath timber lintel with central brick pier between. C20 window beneath
segmental brick arch to right. First and second floor each with two 6-pane circa
late C19 sashes. Lean-to on right-hand lower gable end and to rear in angle of rear
wing and higher end of main range.
Interior with staircases replaced. Ceiling beams circa late C18. Timber lintel to
rear lateral stack replaced. Upper floors not inspected.
