8/45 Egloskerry Methodist Church and
- adjoining Sunday School

Methodist chapel and Sunday school. Circa mid C19, the Sunday school a probably
slightly later extension. Rendered and painted stone rubble, the chapel slate hung on
the front and left hand end. Chapel has a slate roof with hipped ends and the Sunday
school a slate roof with gable ends and brick end stack.
Plan: Chapel of rectangular plan with entrance in liturgical west end. Liturgical
north elevation to road. Attached on the liturgical south side in the Sunday school,
which is of rectangular plan heated by an end stack.
Exterior: Single storey chapel with liturgical north elevation to road. This
elevation is slate hung and decorated with two bands of fish-scale slates with two
tall narrow C19 windows. The front elevation which is the liturgical west end has a
small gabled central projection, which is set slightly forward, flanked by two tall
narrow 4-pane windows and has a roundel in the gable end. The Sunday school to right
is of single storey and lit by tall narrow windows.
Interior: Chapel has complete but simple interior with C19 furnishings and a coved
plaster ceiling. Timber boarded panelling to dado level. Three memorial stones in
Sunday school to T. Lyle, R. Pethick and F.E. Sambell.
