COTHERSTONE MOOR ROAD NZ 01 NW (North side) 16/61 Lodge, gate piers and gate, 110 metres east of Lancelands II Lodge, gate piers and gate. Circa 1910. Snecked sandstone. Stone-flagged roofs and stone chimney stacks. Wood and iron gate. Main block with 2 small gabled wings attached to right return. Arts and Crafts style.
One storey plus attic. 3-bay entrance front: recessed central bay with concave side walls and stone benches; central linenfold door in moulded surround with segmental head; flanking fixed leaded lights. 2-light windows in end bays. Steeply-pitched roof with swept eaves on shaped footstones. Central, gabled 2-light dormer. Corniced central stack behind ridge. One-storey, one-bay wing at right.
Gabled, 3-bay right return with projecting low gabled wings in end bays forming triple-gabled composition. Wings have small round windows and shaped footstones. 3-light window and 4 false pigeon-holes in central gable.
Gabled left return: 5-light ground-floor window; 3-light window and 4 false pigeon-holes above.
2-light and flanking 4-light windows to rear. All windows are mullioned, with leaded lights in side-hung iron casements.
Pair of stone gate piers, with rounded tops, about 5 metres south of main doorway. Heavy wood gate with 6 wood bars below middle rail; 3 iron-twist bars and cambered top rail above.
C20 glazed addition to central bay of right return is not of special interest.
