1. 799 MARKET SQUARE (North-West Side) The Kings Head Hotel SP 8113 NE 1/33 7.4.52. II* GV
2. C15-16 and 17 and later. Two storeys. A three-gabled front. Brick and timber frame plastered. Old tile roof. Left hand gable C15. Brick plinth. Ground floor timber frame and brick infilling with a large rectangular window almost the whole width of the gable divided into two both horizontally and vertically by heavy oak timbers (part of the main structure); the resulting rectangles are each divided into five making 20 lights in all. The ten upper lights have 4-centred arched heads with splayed spandrels. line glass is mostly of C16-17 date, the upper lights have heraldic roundels. The upper floor oversails and is timber frame and plaster. 1 four-light casement window. C19 casements. Centre gable. Splayed and moulded timber28 entrance archway on ground floor with C17 late - C18 early panelled double doors the whole height, each door three large panels. 1 storey C19 bay on 1st floor over. Right hand gable. Refronted, cement rendered string at 1st floor level. Irregular sash windows. A C17 late - C18 early staircase with turned balusters entered from the right hand of the archway, serves this wing of the building. The courtyard - north side rebuilt, the remainder timber frame, brick and old tile roof. For full description see RCHM Bucks. National Trust Property.
