14/51 Dry Dock to south of Ouse Lock
GV II Dry dock. Under construction 1835, completed 1841, with later repairs. Ashlar. Rectangular with tapering east end. Approximately 80 x 20 metres, and approximately 7 metres in depth. Stepped sides except to west end. Stone floor to west, lower concrete floor to east. Hydraulic floating gate to west end. Kelly's Directory of West Yorkshire, 1867; Porteus J D, Canal Ports, 1976, p 151.
