CARHARRACK LOWER TREVETHAN SW 74 SW 6/118 Trevethan House GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Probably C18, but enlarged and remodelled in C19. Granite rubble with quoins, slurried slate roof, brick chimneys. Double-depth plan with rear extension and addition at left end. Two storeys and originally 2 bays, with 3rd added at left end; the 2-bay element is symmetrical, with a central entrance protected by a rectangular porch with Tuscan pilasters, plain frieze and cornice, and glazed door with margin panes; and 4-pane sashed windows with quoined surrounds. To the left is a quoined verticl joint, and left of that the one-bay addition which has a 12-pane sash on each floor. At the right-hand end is a full-height lean-to. Rear has sliding sash windows. Interior: drawing room in the addition has moulded plaster cornice with egg-and-dart and palmette decoration. Forms group with associated stable block (q.v.).
