Shippon, now used as store. Circa late C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble and
cob, the left hand side wall replaced with rendered and painted concrete block.
Steeply pitched rag slate roof with half hipped ends.
Plan: Overall rectangular plan with opposing central entrances on front and rear.
Shippon on ground floor with loft above.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window front with wide plank door near centre
flanked by 2 small window openings with C19 casements. Larger opening to first floor
on left and smaller opening to right.
Interior: Heavy chamfered floor joists and internal window and door lintels. Slate
partitions to stalls. Roof structure with some circa C18 trusses remaining. Rafters
largely replaced in C20.
Part of unaltered group (qv stables and pound house and Bodgate Farmhouse).
