GV II

House. Early C19. Stucco over rubble walls, hipped asbestos slate roof with wide eaves, rendered brick chimney over side wall right and over cross wall left of middle. Plan is of 3 rooms wide with left-hand room (parlour) and right-hand room (kitchen) both complete depth of house and stair hall behind middle room. This plan is possibly a circa mid C19 and later remodelling of a house which was originally 2 equal reception rooms flanking wide central passage leading to central stair hall between rear service rooms. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window south garden front. Plinth, moulded mid floor band and rusticated quoin strips. C20 horned 16-pane sashes. Rear has original 6-panel door, right of middle, mid floor stair window left of doorway, and ground and first floor sashes, right of doorway. All horned sashes. Interior has much C19 carpentry and joinery including moulded ceiling band in left- hand room and panelled doors to most rooms. Some C20 renewal but still a C19 house of quality.
