House. Early C19. Red brick, slate roof. Three storeys, 3 bays. Central
entry plan. 6-panel door in doorcase with Roman Doric pilasters and
entablature. Similar C19 shopfront to left, 16-pane sash to right, with
sill, under channelled wedge lintel with projecting keyblock bearing feather
motif. Similar windows to first and second floors: in both cases the centre
opening is blind. End stacks, plain close verges. This house was the home
of William Bradley (The Market Weighton Giant) at 7' 9" the tallest
Englishman ever recorded. He died in 1820, weighing 27 stones.
