Details
ST ERTH SW 53 SW 6/202 Barn at approximately 10 metres - west of Tredrea Manor Farmhouse
GV II Mill with granaries over. Circa early C19 extended later C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings and copper slag blocks. Asbestos slate roof with gable ends to taller right-hand range. Hip-ended scantle slate roof (heightened circa early C20) to lower original range. Plan: L-shaped plan. Original rectangular building extended in front of the right- hand side circa mid-late C19. Circa late C19 or early C20 it was adapted to operate a mill driven by an external 3-horse whim, the iron hub of which survives a few metres to the north east. Exterior: 2-Storeys. Original south south east front has later gable-ended wing in front of the right-hand side with its front facing left. Original barn has central doorway with small window at either side. Small window at first floor left of middle- and loading doorway right of middle. Front of later part is symmetrical with ground floor doorway with loading doorway over and ground and first floor windows at either side. Rear has wide doorway, left, and some blocked openings. Right-hand wall has doorway on the right and first floor window with original shutters, left. Left-hand wall of hipped end has central first floor window. Most openings have old or original doors and windows. Interior: Not inspected.
