Details
MARTON C.P. CHESTER LANE SJ 66 NW 4/64 Marton House Farmhouse - - II Farmhouse. Early/Mid C19. Red Flemish bond brick with ashlar dressings and slate roof. Tudor Gothic. Entrance front: three bays symmetrically disposed. Ashlar plinth. Central projecting porch with double C20 doors in four-centered arch with hood-mould. Painted ashlar battlements above with moulded crenelations. To either side are cross-windows with hood moulds above and casement lights of 2 x 3 panes below and 2 x 2 light above. Three similar windows to first floor with a stone band at the level of their sills. Hipped roof above with lateral chimney stacks. To either side are single storey wings with battlemented tops similar to that over the central porch.
