Details

WINSFORD FORMER U.D. (Off) GRANGE LANE SJ 66 NW 4/101 Bark House Farmhouse. (Formerly listed under 11.10.49 Mill Lane) - II Farmhouse. Early C19. Red English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof. Three storeys with basement. Entrance front: 3 bays symmetrically disposed. Projecting plinth with stone top rising to form a surround to the basement windows at right and left. Central ground floor doorway with stone surround and a 6-panel door with 2-light overdoor. Three-light cambered headed windows to either side with stone sills. Similar flat lintelled arrangement to first floor with a 2-light window to centre. Similar arrangement to second floor. Gable stacks. There is a 2-storey C19 addition to the right with 2-light cambered headed windows to the ground floor and 2-light flat-lintelled windows to the first floor. Rear: 5 bays, nearly symmetrically disposed. Doorway to right of centre with flat lintel of headers beneath a cambered relieving arch. Two widely spaced bays at left and two less widely spaced at right with cambered heads and cross windows to ground and first floors. Blocked window to first floor right. Smaller flat-lintelledwindows to second floor blocked at right and left.
