OTTRINGHAM DAM LANE TA 22 SW (east side) 5/26 Nearmarsh Farmhouse - II
Farmhouse. Mid - late C18. Brick with pantile roof. L-shaped on plan: 2-room, central entrance-hall south front with 2-room, central entrance-hall wing to rear left and outshut in angle. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays; symmetrical. Step to recessed 6-fielded-panel door and 3-pane overlight in eared architrave. 16-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves . Stepped eaves. Tumbled-in brick to raised gables. End stacks. Left return: 6-fielded-panel door and 4-pane overlight in architrave beneath segmental arch flanked by 16-pane sashes; 12-pane sash to front range on right. First floor: small 12-pane sash above entrance flanked by 16-pane sashes; attic board hatch to gable of front range. Tumbled-in brick to raised gable; axial and end stacks. Interior retains original details including staircase; not investigated.
