Coaching inn, now 2 houses. Mid C18 with C19 and C20 alterations. East elevation
refronted mid C19, rendered and lined out; north elevation is in coursed sandstone
rubble with slate lacing. Hipped slate roof with crested ridge tiles, stack to left
(south) side and external sandstone rubble stack with rendered chimney to right of
north elevation.
Gale Cottage to left, with carriage entrance to internal courtyard; house to right
refronted with canted bay to front, and entrance to right side.
Gale Cottage of 2 storeys, house to north of 3 storeys. Gale Cottage is rendered,
with C20 PVC sash and plain door, 2 UPVC sashes at first floor. To right, double
doors for carriage entry. To right, canted bay through 3 storeys, all C20 PVC
sashes, with modillion cornice. North elevation has panelled door with lion mask
knocker in raised C20 surround, 6-pane sash to right. First floor has paired 12-pane
sash to right, 2nd floor has paired 9-pane sash to right.
