GV II
Stairway and associated statuary. Mid C19. Stone and render. In the C16
Florentine mode. Triumphal staircase. 5 granite steps lead to a platform backed by
a lined-out rendered wall with central alcove with Roman bust, flanked by grey
marble panels. Balustraded stairs rise left and right and return to upper platform
which has wall supporting free-standing classical statues from patent artifical
stone. These are the Medici Venus, the Apollo Belvedere and Bacchus.
