Details
GOWDALL FIELD LANE SE 62 SE (west side) 2/16 Barn approximately 30 metres west of Gowdall Broach Farmhouse GV II Threshing barn. Late C18 - early C19. Brick with pantile and Yorkshire slate roof. Rectangular on plan, with pair of opposed entrances; forms west side of fold-yard. 2 storeys, 10 bays. East side, facing yard: board doors beneath segmental stretcher arches to third and eighth bays; single row of breather slits to ground floor, double row above, and single pitching hatch to seventh bay with board door and lintel at eaves level. Pitched roof with 2 courses of slates forming projecting eaves; stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. West side has pair of similar segmental-headed doors, breather slits and 2 hatches to ground floor; door, 3 hatches and breather slits above. South gable has blocked opening, diamond-shaped breather and owl- hole.
