9/199 Bareppa Farmhouse -
GV II
Farmhouse. Circa early C19. Stuccoed front. Scantle slate hipped roof with wide eaves at the front. Brick chimneys over the side walls. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters. Plan: Unaltered double depth plan; 2 similar-sized reception rooms at the front; central through passage; stair and pantry behind right-hand room and kitchen behind left-hand room. C20 extension (new kitchen) on the right. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window south front with central doorway. The front openings have 4-centred arches and original door and windows: 6-panel doors with Y tracery to fanlight; 12-pane, 2-light casement windows with Y tracery to their tympana. Interior: Largely unaltered interior with most of its original carpentry and joinery details including ovolo moulded ceiling beams, 4-panel doors and stick baluster stair with winder steps at the bottom. The original kitchen has a fairly large granite fireplace and there are slate flags in the pantry.
