Cottage. Late C18, C20 renovation. Timber-framed and plastered with
thatched roofs. C19 ridge stack. Two one storey ranges linked possibly in
early C19. Range to north-east of two units with original entrance from
north-east; south-west range with half cellar. C20 main entrance in angle
with boarded door; two windows to north-east elevation, one an original C18
casement with leaded lights. The Cambridge road was turnpiked in 1765,
several toll gate cottages were built shortly afterwards. The ridge stack
may replace an earlier framed chimney.
