Cottage. c.1678. The bay to the west has been enlarged at the rear, C18.
Timber framed, plaster rendered and long straw thatch, half-hipped. Square
red brick ridge stack of two flues. Three bay and lobby entry plan. Two
storeys and attic. Three modern casements at first and ground floors.
Doorway in modern porch. Lean-to timber frame enlargement to bay at west
end, now with roof raised. Inside: Abutting inglenook hearths, one now
blocked and the other with rebuilt brickwork but original lintel having the
Hearth Tax receipts for approximately 1678 to 1682 fixed to it. Side purlin
roof and narrower chimney bay. Jowled heads to posts and downward bracing.
The cottage was occupied by members of the Pryme family in late C17.
