10/57 Outbuildings and culvert approximately 5 metres east of Hibaldstow Mill

GV II

Outbuildings and culvert for mill stream. 1802 by James Middleton of Hibaldstow, millwright. Outbuildings of hammer-dressed limestone and coursed rubble, partly rendered to west, with pantile roof. Culvert of limestone rubble and brick. Rectangular 2-room range of outbuildings stands downstream from mill, separated from it by roadway; culvert carries mill stream beneath road and outbuildings. West front, facing mill: single storey, 2 openings. Plinth. Pair of board doors with strap hinges to left beneath timber lintel. Doorway to right (door missing). Stepped eaves. Right return has doorway and rectangular opening in gable beneath timber lintels. Culvert has brick round arch to east and tunnel vault. Outbuildings partly collapsed to east side. Adjoining C20 sheds are of no special interest. Included for group value.
