1st half of C18. 2 storeys and attic in painted brick with steep roof of Welsh
slates with 5 dormers, 2 preserving original moulded pediments. Sun Insurance
sign. 1st floor: 11 near flush frame sash windows, glazing bars to all except
No 47. Shop fronts at ground floor incorporate earlier reeded pilasters, plate
glass. Late C19 shop front to No 41; grooved pilasters and fascia to No 43;
grooved pilasters, entablature and dentil cornice to No 45; modern shop front to
No 47. Recessed centre doorway with gauged flat arch with stone keystone and
6-panel door. Formerly the Tiger Inn. Interior fragmentary, but some reception
doors retain Composite or Corinthian mouldings. No 47 has mid C18 wooden
staircase with carved tread ends and turned balusters with gadrooned knops.
