19/88 Windmill tower approximately 20 metres south-east of Oakengates

Windmill tower. c1830 with later C19 top section. Brick. 5 storeys: 3- storey tapered round tower with 2-storey cylindrical top section. 2-fold board door with strap hinges beneath segmental arch to east, blocked door to west. Square-headed and segmental-arched openings to each floor, 4 with 4- pane or 9-pane casements, others blocked or with window frames missing. Top somewhat damaged, with dentilled brick cornice. No roof. Interior floors mostly intact. Ceased operating in early C20.
