SADDLEWORTH CHURCH LANE SE 00 NW (west side) Uppermill 4/50 Hearse House south of Church 19/6/67 of St. Chad G.V. II Hearse house. "1824 James Taylor, George Ogden Wardens, Know Thyself" on arched inscribed stone in gable. Ashlar with watershot stone sides and rear and graduated stone slate roof. 2 hearse bays each with pointed arch doors. Coped gable with carved finial. Pointed arch windows to sides and rear, the rear one retaining interlaced glazing bars.
