LONGDENDALE HOBSON MOOR ROAD SK 09 NW (south-east side) 5/55 Outbuildings at Hollingworth 20.3.75 Hall Farm
- II
Range of farm buildings incorporating a disused farmhouse, barns and shippons. Largely C18 but including a C17 (or earlier) cruck-framed structure and alterations of early C19. Squared rubble with graduated stone slate roof. L- shaped range. The north range has shippon, barn with opposed cart entries and outshut to rear. The south range also has opposed cart entries, a shippon and was partly converted to a farmhouse in early C19. The north wing has C19 shippon door and window openings to the left of the barn door and vents to the right. Half-hipped roof. The south wing has a cart entry with timber lintel; the farmhouse to its left has a door with square-cut surround and three 2- light flat-faced stone mullion windows. Vents to right. Similar details at rear with a winnowing door. One ridge chimney stack. The cruck-frames in the north range are largely concealed by a later ceiling.
