2/56 Erriwig Farmhouse

GV II House. C16 with C17 north west wing and C18 brick casing, now colourwashed. Old tile roof, hipped gable with scolloped bargeboards. Original house timber framed, with oversailing upper floor on all four sides. Two storeys. Garden (NE) elevation has original house on left with cogged brick band below the oversailing upper storey, modern recessed entrance, 2-light casement on left and two 2-light casements to first floor. Lower roofed wing on right with brick first floor band, three 2-light casements to ground floor, two to first floor. All leaded glazing, some old. NW elevation has, on left, gable end of C17 wing with projecting brick stack, large projecting stack with tiled offset and inglenook window in centre, and one bay with exposed joists of oversaling upper floor on right. Elevation to yard (SW) has two double hung sash windows to ground floor. Lower outbuilding attached on south-east side linking to farm building (q.v). Interior: exposed timber framing including dragon beams to each corner. Large inglenook fireplace.
