House. C.1600 crosswing and C17 main range. Crosswing timber framed,
roughcast rendered first floor and red brick ground floor. Tiled roof.
Three bays. Two storeys. The first floor was originally jettied at the
south end and west side with a dragon beam (visible internally) at the
corner. The jetty was underbuilt in late C17 or early C18. Two casements to
gable end. Hoist opening to side wall at first floor. Main range: probably
timber framed cased in red brick to both inner and outer walls. Tiled roof.
Red brick axial ridge stack and end stack. Lobby entry and three room plan.
Two storeys and attic with plat band between the storeys returned to gable
end. Three gable dormers. First floor fenestration remodelled and enlarged
C19. Range of four hung sashes with central glazing bar. The bay opposite
the stack projects slights to allow for the lobby. Doorway to lobby with
late C18-early C19 six panelled door. Three C19 cross-frame casements in
original openings at ground floor. Inside: reset early C16 six, sunk
panelled door. Abutting hearths. Framing visible in wing. Jowled main
posts and braced tie beams.
