Details
BRETHERTON LIVERPOOL ROAD SD 42 SE 3/17 The Old Windmill, near Bank Hall 17.4.67 II
Windmill, dated 1741, altered, now house. Brick covered with white painted render, wooden cap. Circular plan tapering in the height, 3 storeys; modern gableted door and windows, possibly in original openings; over door on north-west side a datestone inscribed 1741. Octagonal cap with projecting eaves and pitched apex, and on north-west side a cruciform iron plate for sails (missing); brick chimney at rear. Single-storey link addition on north side not included in item.
