Cottage. Probably C18 with a 1980s lean-to adjoining at the left end. Whitewashed
rendered cob on stone rubble footings; asbestos slate roof, gabled at ends (thatched
until at least 1960, old list description), projecting right end stack with bread
oven.
Plan: Single depth plan, 2 rooms wide with an entrance slightly to left of centre
into a passage, the stairs rising opposite the entrance; kitchen/living room at right
end, smaller unheated room to the left. 1980s single-storey lean-to bathroom
addition at the left end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Slightly asymmetrical 2 window front with a central front door
and small-pane probably C19 timber casement windows.
Interior: Unrestored and fairly plain; right end room only inspected. This has a
plastered over crossbeam and an open fireplace, the kettle crook still in use at time
of survey (1987).
A small, late vernacular building in the centre of the village. Group value with
church and church hall.
