OLD HURST CHURCH STREET 1. 5140 (north side) Church of St Peter (formerly listed as Chapel of St Peter) TL 37 NW 4/21 30.5.58 II* 2. Small C13 Parish Church of nave and chancel under continuous roof. Pebble-rubble and freestone with Ketton and Barnack stone dressings. Plain tiled. West window of two pointed lights in two centred arch with moulded label. Two modern recesses for bells in gable end. Three windows to south wall, two of two pointed lights with quatrefoil in two centred head with moulded label and mask stops, and one plain lancet. South doorway of two moulded orders. Inner order trefoiled, outer two centred and carried on attached shafts with moulded capitals and bases. East wall rebuilt 1903 and late C13 window reset. Two pointed lights with quatrefoil in two centred head with moulded label and mask stops. North vestry modern. Late C12 piscina pillar in chancel. C13 font. Octagonal basin with three light window tracery to each face. Central octagonal stem and eight attached shafts with moulded capitals and bases on common plinth. (RCHM Huntingdonshire p 162).
