Bank, c.1880 Ashlar, hipped slate roof with ridge chimneys. L-shaped plan, on
corner site. Two storeys, with corner turret, in Renaissance style:
channelled rustication to ground floor, moulded and carved cornice; at right
end of Bank Street facade a round-headed porch with dentilled cornice, a
triple window of round-headed sashes at 1st floor above, rectangular
tripartite window on each floor at the left end and a rectangular window next
to the door. Corbelled and on brackets at the left corner is a cylindrical
2-stage turret rising from 1st floor level, with narrow curved sashes at 1st
floor, a panelled band and carved frieze, a belvedere of very narrow windows
between shafts with carved capitals, a console cornice, and a lead-clad ogival
domed roof with a finial. Left return wall is longer, a wide centre bay
slightly set back and containing 4 rectangular windows at ground floor and a
row of 6 round-headed sashes above, the flanking bays with tripartite sashed
windows, the upper having projecting sills and cornices on consoles (that at
ground floor left part altered).
