CATON-WITH-LITTLEDALE
Pott Yeats Farmhouse
II
House, late C17th, altered C19th. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof.
T-plan. 2 storeys with attics. Front, facing north, of 2 bays. Windows
sashed with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. Central door has
chamfered surround and a hood on brackets. Above is a blocked chamfered
window surround. Other blocked openings are visible. To the right, beyond a
straight joint, is a further cell having a window with plain stone surround.
Above it is a blocked mullioned window of C18th type. Gables have copings
with kneelers. Gable chimneys, the left-hand one projecting at 1st floor
level on stone corbels. This gable has 2 one-light chamfered attic windows,
one blocked. The rear wing has a gable chimney with a weathered offset and a
cap rebuilt in brick. To the west, parallel with the front range, is a wing
dated ' F 1856'. Interior. Rear wing has exposed chamfered main joists,

one possibly a firehood bressummer. Other rooms not accessible at time of
survey.
