6/207 Lower Chapel Hill Farmhouse - GV II
Farmhouse, probably early C18, altered, now derelict. Sandstone rubble, stone slate roof with 2 ridge chimneys. T-shaped: single-depth 3-bay plan with short wing to centre of east side incorporating porch. Two storeys: front to lane has irregular fenestration, windows either mullioned or square, those at ground floor with thin hoodmoulds, and those on each floor at right end both with double-recessed heads, 1st floor window at left end 3 small lights blocked. Right (south) gable has a plain doorway, a square 2-light window on each floor; rear of this bay has one vertical rectangular light with long hoodmould continued to the right. Wing has plain doorway offset to left, one window each floor here and in left side. Later lean-to in further angle. North gable has raised doorway, window to left, and small cellar light below this. Interior: middle bay has chamfered beams supported at south end by steel beam replacing former inglenook bressumer.
