8/47 Barn on southern side of road, - opposite Pye's Farmhouse

GV II

Barn and shippons, probably c1800 with remains of late C17th house. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. Later part of building, at left, has wide entrance with segmental arch. To its left and right are doors with long-and-short jambs. Further right is a 2-storey bay which has windows with glazing bars and plain reveals. The earlier part of the building, at the right beyond a straight joint, has a rebated and chamfered window surround with central mullion removed. To its right is a door with long-and-short jambs. To the left is a door with a chamfered surround with triangular head. On the 1st floor there is a window with glazing bars set within an enlarged rebated and chamfered surround. To the right there is a pitching hole. Chimney to left of door with chamfered surround.
