House including yard entrance and gates. House, early C16 possibly with earlier fabric remodelled in late C16/early C17 with C19/C20 alterations. Roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob. Asbestos slate roofs. Front lateral stack with offsets and brick shaft. Inserted lateral brick stack towards right end. End through-passage with hall and inner room to right, the lower end probably rebuilt as separate cottage adjoining to left (not included in list description). 2-window range of two 2-light casements 6-panes per light above half-glazed door with 2-light window to left 3-panes per light. Large double plank doors with slatted grilles in the upper parts to yard entrance at right end. Hall retains plank and muntin screen of 9 sections with C19 inserted doorcase at upper end of hall. Some early joinery including square-headed doorway from through-passage to hall and some old plank doors. Roof structure consists of truss above hall/inner room thoroughly smoke-blackened with unusual saddle and short ridge support in FI type apex arrangement (Alcock: Cruck Catalogue) Truss replaced over hall. Truss at lower end with threaded purlins also thoroughly smoke-blackened, now closed to form partition with adjoining cottage.
