3/145 Dovecote approx. 30 metres north-east-of Leck Hall

GV II

Dovecote, early C19th. Rubble with slate roof. West facade symmetrical, with central 2-storey block of square plan, with single-storey sections on north and south under lean-to roofs. Each of these has a blocked oculus with plain stone surround. The central block has blocked openings, and, on the 1st floor, a lunette opening with plain stone surround. The central block has a hipped slate roof. At its apex is a slate-hung octagonal lantern with pigeon holes around its base and with a lead cap with ball finial and weather vane. The east wall is slightly convex on plan and has openings with plain reveals. The central block has a door and a window on the ground floor and a doorway above. At each side there is a door and a window.
