9/54 Ivy House 12/2/86 II

House. C16, C17, altered C19, C20. Red brick in English bond, Welsh slate roof over thatch, brick coped tumbled gables with kneelers, 2 C19 brick ridge stacks. T-plan, with cross wing parlour and lobby entry. 2 storey with garret, irregular 4 bay front with right hand bay advanced and gabled. First floor band raised over door, dogtooth eaves course now raised to later eaves. Off-centre C20 6 panel door with to left a blocked window and to right 2 glazing bar sashes. To first floor are 4 similar windows. All openings have segmental brick heads. The right hand gable is tumbled and contains a blocked garret light. Interior retains moulded beam with ogee stop, inglenook fireplace with splayed sides, herringbone brick back and salt cupboard with ogee head. The original roofs are preserved beneath the later roof, and are of pegged oak clasped purl in construction.
