TL 73 NW TOPPESFIELD 3/6 Hurrell's Farmhouse GV II

House, early C17, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned N-S, aspect W, with axial chimney stack in second bay from S end, forming a lobby-entrance house. C18/19 extension to S with end chimney stack, and lean-to to rear of it. C19 single- storey extension to S with end chimney stack. Single-storey with attics. 2 6- panel doors, 3 double-hung sash windows of 16 lights, one single-hung sash window of 12 lights, and 2 similar single-hung windows in gabled dormers, all late C18/early C19. The interior has chamfered beams and mantel beam with lamb's tongue stops, face-halved and bladed scarfs in wallplates, and clasped purlin roof. RCHM 18.
