4/208 Newton Hall Farmhouse 4-10-1967 II

House, late C17th and mid C19th. Pebbledashed rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys. Earlier part of 2 bays having rebated and chamfered mullioned windows, of 4 and 3 lights on the ground floor and 3 and 2 lights above. At the left is a doorway with chamfered surround and embattled lintel. Chimney between bays. At the left the taller C19th addition projects forwards. It has a band above the ground floor, is of 2 bays and has modern windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. Between bays is a door with plain stone surround and pediment. Chimney to right of door. Inside, the right-hand room of the C17th part of the house has the outline of a shouldered fireplace of C18th type visible under wallpaper. Also in this room is solid stone quarter-turn stair. The left-hand room in the C17th part has a built-in cupboard with shouldered raised and fielded panels.
