II
House, C18, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, partly faced with painted brickwork, partly plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned NE-SW, with central stair and entrance hall, and an external chimmey stack at each end, aspect SE. Rear wing with hipped roof from NE bay, and single-storey extension with slate lean-to roof beyond. Single-storey extension with slate lean-to roof in W angle. 2 storeys and attics. Central glazed door in simple doorcase, and 2 double-hung sash windows of 16 lights, early C19. First floor, 2 similar windows, and one C19/20 double-hung sash window of 12 lights over door. The lower storey of the front elevation is faced with brickwork in Flemish bond, the upper storey with stretcher bond, and the sides are faced with stretcher bond as far as the chimneys, all painted. The staircase is elegantly curved round an open well, from ground to attic, with mahogany handrail, plain stick balusters, and scrolled tread ends. All the internal doors are of 6 panels. Moated site.
